Refund Policy

1. Overview

This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds are processed for ExpertLink invitations.

2. Payment Structure

When you create an invitation, you pay:

  • Expert Session Price: The amount the expert will receive (100% - no platform fee deducted from expert)
  • Platform Fee: A small percentage charged to the buyer for using ExpertLink

All transactions are in EUR.

3. When Refunds Are Issued

✅ Full Refund - Expert Declines

If the expert declines your invitation, you will receive a full refund of the total amount paid (session price + platform fee).

  • Refund processing time: 3-5 business days
  • Refunds are processed manually by our team
  • You will receive an email confirmation when refund is issued

✅ Full Refund - Invite Expires

If the expert does not respond and the invitation expires (30 days), you will receive a full refund.

❌ No Refund - Expert Accepts

Once the expert accepts your invitation and a session is scheduled, payment is non-refundable.

4. Refund Process

  1. Automatic Notification: You'll receive an email when the expert declines or invite expires
  2. Manual Processing: Our team processes the refund through Stripe
  3. Timeline: Refunds are issued within 3-5 business days
  4. Confirmation: You'll receive a confirmation email when the refund is complete
  5. Bank Processing: Your bank may take an additional 5-10 business days to process the refund

5. Special Circumstances

Session Cancellations

If a scheduled session needs to be cancelled or rescheduled, please contact us at support@getexpertlink.com. Refund decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Technical Issues

If technical issues prevent a session from occurring, please contact us immediately. We will work with both parties to resolve the issue or process a refund as appropriate.

Disputes

For any disputes regarding session quality or completion, please contact us within 7 days of the scheduled session. We will review each case individually.

6. Payment Method

Refunds are processed back to the original payment method used during purchase (credit card, debit card, etc.).

7. Expert Payouts

Expert payouts are separate from buyer refunds:

  • Experts receive 100% of the session price (no platform fee deducted)
  • Payouts are processed after session completion
  • Payout processing time: 3-5 business days
  • Payouts are handled manually in MVP
